Movement2020
Private Group active 4 years, 10 months agoUC San Diego’s Department of Literature is excited to announce their second annual graduate conference. This year’s theme, “Movement,” embraces the complexities of the potential for, and results of, movement. The term “movement” has been at the center of aesthetics, literary history, and philosophy for centuries. From a movement like the Young Hegelians, that criticized the political establishment and capitalist modes of production, to the Aesthetic Movement, that created “art for art’s sake,” movements have shaped critical thinking in a variety of fields. In the social sciences, social, horizontal, vertical, and spatial mobility have been analyzed for decades.
