What advice would you give to transfers who are currently at community college?

Take a summer session before Fall quarter starts. Get used to the campus and know where your resources are at before the campus gets too busy.

What was your biggest fear about transferring to UC San Diego?

I had the huge worry of going from a school that was similar to high school, to a full on university. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the curriculum.

What part of your transition was most difficult?

Definitely the worry of the unknown. I didn’t know really what to expect.

Why choose the PATH Program?

Definitely the worry of the unknown. I didn’t know really what to expect.

How has the PATH program helped you?

The PATH program definitely got me prepared, not only for student life at a major university, but also for preparing me for what I should expect from class curriculum and grading processes from professors.

What was the most difficult part of the PATH Program for you?

Nothing about the program was difficult for me, except for the length of the summer session. But you get used to it.

What UCSD resources do you find yourself using the most?

Student Veterans Resource Center and the library, a lot.

What tips would you tell future students about the UC San Diego campus?

Hope you like walking. And, there is always something going on, you will receive a true college experience.
