Program Stats

  • Students: 27 from all three colleges in the SDCCD
  • Majors: 1 Classical Studies, 2 History, 2 ICAM, 2 Japanese Studies, 9 Literature, 1 Music, 2 Philosophy, 3 Theatre, 5 Visual Arts
  • Mentors: 10 mentors, all former PATH students
  • Courses: HIUS 114b—California History – taught by Professor Danny Widener, & LTCS 165—The Politics of Food – taught by Professor Stephanie Jed
  • Hands-on Activities: As part of the Politics of Food course, each student received seeds, soil and a planter from Pixca Farm and grew their own Arugula, Cilantro, Radish and Spinach / Each student received a CSA bag or locally grown produce from Good Neighbor Gardens to cook with
  • Workshops:  The Writing Hub, Microagressions, Library & research introduction, Career Center, Good Neighbor Gardens presentation, Mindfulness training, Financial Aid, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), The Triton Transfer Center, and a panel workshop featuring campus representatives from Academic Internship Program, Academic Enrichment Programs, and Study Abroad.
  • Activities: (2) Activism through Art sessions, (2) Study Jams, Cooking Night, Painting Night, Movie Night, Costume Social Hour, Rec Center Workout, Origami, Open Mic
  • Housing: Students stayed at home – no on campus components this time.
  • Schedule: June 29 – August 1, 2020. Classes held from 11-1:50pm on Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday, with workshops held prior to classes on most Monday’s and Wednesdays. Friday was unscheduled free time for meeting with faculty and mentors.
